Freebie - Growl notification style
Freebie - Growl notification style
A while ago I decided to have a go at making a Growl notification style (webkit based, using HTML/CSS). I was rather happy with the result and have been using it ever since. Today, I'd like to share it with you. All you need to do is download the .growlStyle package & double click to install it. Enjoy!

Looks great! I'll try it out now.
I am currently using "Music Video", which comes pre-installed with Growl.
My major issue with it though is that you cannot click on it (so Twitter might say "click here to go to the tweet", but clicking is ignored).
Yours looks like one of the more conventional small square ones that does allow mouse clicks.
Also, I cannot close the message on the home page, because I do not have edit permissions for the page (and therefore I cannot use the set-tags button!)

I think this may be a Growl bug, but in case it's something that you have done incorrectly I'll explain the problem:
Installation seemed to work correctly.
However, that final popup asked me if I wanted to configure it immediately. I said yes, and it popped open the Preferences dialog for Growl.
"Glossy" was nowhere to be seen in the list. It only appeared after I stopped, and then restarted Growl, and opened the Preferences dialog again.

Hmm, not sure about the installation problem - I'll have to look into it further. And yes, the Glossy theme lets you click through to the application.
As for the homepage, permissions are set to allow wikidot users to edit it so I'm not sure what's going on. Either way, I've removed that message for the time being.

Perhaps the inc:blog page has an impact somehow - try putting the notification text back on the main homepage, and see if it makes a difference?
Includes simply pull code from one page to another, so if it is pulling in the more restrictive permissions as well we may have just found an unreported bug :)

Great job, maybe you can add it to the design section on the Icon deposit as a web element?
